Kasai Praiano has an incredible ambiance, and was easily our favorite dinner in the town. In fact, it was one of our favorite dinners in Italy.
The venue is outdoors, and the servers are constantly crossing the street (and sometimes dodging traffic) to bring food and drinks to customers.
As is common with all Italian restaurants, make sure you have a reservation before arriving. We saw a bunch of people drinking outside waiting for tables while Michelle and I walked right in.
If you forget the reservation, they’ll serve you some Presecco while you wait. This is a nice touch, life could be worse than enjoying some bubbly while enjoying the beautiful lights of the Amalfi.
Food in Kasai
The food here is as great as the ambiance. Our pasta dish was spaghetti with squid, which should have been called squid with some spaghetti.
They loaded up on seafood, which was a pleasant surprise compared to most restaurants. Check out the squid to pasta ratio in the picture.
We also ordered a seafood platter which included swordfish, tuna, calamari, and sea bass. The tuna was some of the best tuna we ever had. Swordfish, on the other hand, was quite dry. It’s a tough fish to cook, we blame the fish, definitely not the chef.
Kasai Praiano – The Bottom Line
Kasai was our favorite dinner in Praiano. The outdoor ambiance was fantastic, the food was even better, and the views of the Amalfi lights were incredible.
If you only have time for one meal in Praiano, make sure Kasai is the one, and bring the biggest appetite imaginable. Our only wish was that we came hungrier to enjoy more of their dishes.
