Ray’s Boathouse – Seattle, Washington

October 18, 2018 By Rome 1 Comment

Ray's Boathouse

Ray’s Boathouse has an exquisite seafood restaurant and bar hosts its customers next to crashing waves and blue skies. The magnificent view is enjoyed by all those who have come, wanting to taste Ray’s critically acclaimed food and drinks. This restaurant is incredibly popular, so reservations are important. However, if you just happened to drop by, you can still enjoy the experience by sitting next to the bar and having a few drinks and delicious snacks.

Ray’s menu is simply colossal, with a 24-page menu for drinks only. They not only have a dinner menu and a café menu, but they also have seasonal menus. This ensures that no customer ever leaves feeling like they could not order what they were craving. Though it gets a little chilly sometimes, Ray’s tables have heat lamps and also fleece blankets on every chair!

Popular Entrees

All customers come hungry and seeking something that will absolutely blow their minds and that is precisely what happens. The expert chefs present their special dishes and await the reaction of the diners, which is rarely, if ever, unpleasant.

A favorite of the customers is the Sablefish entrée. All food critics know exactly how easy it is to overcook a light-textured fish. However, Ray’s always cooks the Sablefish with delicacy, making sure not even a scale is overcooked, or undercooked. This preparation melts in the mouth.

Many customers also order Ray’s famous crab cakes as a starter. It features three incredibly flavorful cakes and a half-head of a grilled romaine, along with crab toast. Many people have dubbed this dish as one of the best they have ever had the pleasure to order. Not only is the taste amazing, but the serving is also hearty as well.

Main Courses

Ray’s must really know how to cook it’s sablefish because it is one of the favorite main courses as well, for a lot of customers. This time, the chefs perfectly roast this fish and serve it with shimoji mushrooms, jasmine rice, pickles, and cauliflower. The succulent and juicy flesh of the fish is perfectly complemented by these additional elements.

Another dish that has impressed many of Ray’s regulars is the clam chowder. This soup very creamy and tastes absolutely delicious. Many restaurants serve clam chowder but certainly do not make it with the expertise of Ray’s chefs. A personal favorite of customers is to order clam chowder with the Alaskan Crab. This combination really gives you the taste of the sea in your mouth.

Even though Ray’s Boathouse is mainly a seafood restaurant, it does not neglect the customers who prefer to not eat seafood. Its non-fish menu is chosen with care and the dishes are cooked with the same passion as the seafood dishes.

One of the best no-seafood dishes is their chicken. This chicken is tender but not tough and is served with chanterelles, gnocchi and a bit of crab meat. Of course, if you really do not wish to eat seafood, the chefs will be happy to accommodate the dish to your personal preference.

Dessert

Ray’s dessert menu is also as jam-packed with treats all their other menus. With a variety of desserts, one does not have to worry about going elsewhere after the main course. Whatever you are craving, Ray’s has it!

If you have had a heavy dinner and only wish to sweeten your mouth, the sorbet and ice cream will prove to be an amazing treat. The dish is not too sweet, which is a problem with many of other restaurant’s desserts. It is considered fancy but can also be considered a comfort food.

No matter who you ask from in Seattle, you will never hear a single word of negativity against Ray’s Boathouse. It really lives up to its reputation. The view, the food and, the drinks are amazing, what else could anyone want for a night out?
