Rome’s college friends Josh and Jaslyne decided to have their wedding in Kirkland, Washington, which gave us an excuse to explore a lovely city across Lake Washington from Seattle.
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Kirkland, the rooms were affordable, and they had a great backyard for us to hang out. Pro-Tip – instead of ordering drinks at their bar, walk one block to a grocery store called QFC. The beer selection is broader, the prices are cheaper, and then you can bring it back to the courtyard to enjoy.
Kirkland Restaurants
Wilde Rover Irish Pub & Restaurant – Irish themed bar with Irish food. We had the Corned Beef & Cabbage and Scottish Egg. The food was just okay, but there was lots of space, a live band, and outdoor seating.
Kirkland Events
Flatstick Pub – spacious bar with a putt-putt course in the background. Their beer menu is electronic, and the selection always changes.
JM Cellars – This winery was a fantastic wedding venue, and their initials matched the married couple! Their wines are outstanding – they have many different varieties.
Cock & Bull – very spacious bar with polite service and great drinks. Most importantly, it’s open late, which is impossible to find in Kirkland.
